History education meets leadership education. Vimy Inspires Tomorrow encourages youth between 13 and 17 years old to develop and utilize their leadership skills.
Six activities drawing on First World War history enable youth to examine, discuss, and exercise key leadership skills, all of which can be applied to their daily lives as they become leaders of tomorrow. Destined for educational and community-based youth groups of all kinds, the activities can be completed virtually or in person, and are available free of charge. Participants go on to apply the leadership skills and knowledge they have gained through the program towards the creation of or contribution to a project that will benefit their local community.
Impact driven leadership. Through this program, youth learn lessons from historical leadership that they can apply to their daily lives as young leaders. Activities make connections to participants’ lived experiences and encourage discussion to ensure maximum engagement.
The modules were designed or reviewed by educators, and are adaptable to the needs and learning levels of different groups. Facilitator notes and alternate activities ensure flexibility and ease of delivery.
