The Expedition: A Journey Into Commemoration
The Vimy Expedition mobile app aims to bring the rich historical context of the site to life through site-specific, geo-located stories with story, images and sound. It helps users visiting Vimy to better understand the history of the site, while walking in the footsteps of soldiers, nurses and artists that contributed to writing this chapter of our history. For those who would like to visit the site, it is an important digital asset that allows everyone to experience Vimy from anywhere in the world.
The Digital Pilgrimage
The Digital Pilgrimage is a virtual space of remembrance where more than a century of testimonies live together, from the First World War to the war in Afghanistan. We invite all users to tell their story and discover the common links that unite us in our relationship with war and conflict. This immersive project utilizes advanced 2.5D animations and was created by the National Film Board (NFB) in partnership with La Boîte Interactive, mirari and The Vimy Foundation
